Hey everyone!  I finally have a chance to write a quick message.  We just got back from eating some tapas for dinner, delicious!  I think I'm going to miss the food here.  We arrived from Barcelona yesterday morning after a long overnight train.  Some of us slept, some of us didn't, but it was nice to have a cheap overnight 'lodging'.  We felt the andalusian heat right off the bat.  it was 10am, and already it was about 90 degrees outside...it ended up getting to be 100 degrees by 3!

Some of us walked around the city yesterday afternoon.  We went to visit the cathedral, which is biggest gothic cathedral in the world in terms of square footage.  It was incredibly ornate and definitely worth the time to walk around and gawk at the many paintings, altars, and sculptures.  We also climbed the moorish bell tower that gave us awesome views of all of seville!  Afterwards we wandered around the santa cruz neighborhood and managed to get a little turned around in the winding streets.  Seville is beautiful, the color of the buildings, the wrought iron fences and balconies, and of course the tiling that seems to be everywhere!

Today we visited the Alcazar which is a moorish temple that is right in the center of town, and the gardens that are adjacent to it.  We then walked towards the plaza de españa and were pretty impressed by its size and awesome tile work.  Then we walked to el centro and found an awesome tapas bar and had a frosty brew.  We came back to the hostel for a quick siesta, and then went out to eat dinner. The game plan tonight...wine on the terrace, flamenco, and then who knows!  Another day here tomorrow, then leave on the high speed AVE to Madrid tomorrow evening.\

Coming home soon!
